rules and stuff
1. The downloads available on this site are only to be used in conjunction with this competition and you must abide by the rules and regulations stated hereunder.
2. Shorts should be a minimum of three minutes and a maximum of ten minutes in duration.
3. Music not featured on this website CANNOT be used in short films submitted to this competition.
4. The deadline for submissions is Friday 27th June 2008.
5. Only the five films shortlisted as finalists will be entitled to license their chosen track(s) at no cost for non commercial exploitation. However for those that don’t make the selected finalist films private arrangements may be made between yourselves and the labels/ publishers regarding gratis license for festivals.
6. The music offered as part of the prize(s) is restricted to titles where ThinkSync Music controls 100% of the publishing and master rights. Titles partially controlled by ThinkSync Music will be subject to the agreement of third parties.
7. Each entry must be accompanied by the downloaded submission form provided.
8. All entries must have music correctly credited in end credits- in accordance with the information supplied on our website
9. All necessary consent and release forms must be obtained for all entries.
10. Film makers must agree to ThinkSync Films having the right to show and distribute their short films for screening in other venues and any other promotional platforms throughout the world where no revenue is received by ThinkSync Films.
11. You may show your film at any film festivals or on promotional websites providing we are informed first and there is no commercial exploitation of the film (such as being picked up by for distribution). The music featured in this competition is cleared for festivals where the audience is charged to view the film, (whether or not you are being paid yourself), providing you seek approval from the relevant label's publishers before the event to check.
12. Update: Following queries regarding music clearance, we would like to make it clear that the tracks offered for use in this competition are provided with a gratis license for your short film outside the context of ThinkSync films short film competition providing they are not commercially exploited. In order to ensure that the film using the music provided is not defamatory or obscene or otherwise contravenes any law or statute we request that you submit the film to us for viewing prior our granting a formal clearance. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any queries or further explanation of these terms. It is strongly advised that you keep Thinksync Films and the relevant record label/ publisher aware of where & when you are screening your short.
