ThinkSync Films Screening and After Party – HMS President, July 30th, 2008

August 1st, 2008

So, we held or third annual ThinkSync Film Party on Wednesday 30th July onboard HMS President. The night was a great success with a full to capacity venue for the entire screening event and party, which took place as part of the Rushes Soho Shorts Festival. Big apologies to all those that didn’t get in - it looks like next year we’ll need a bigger venue.

The films were all really well-received however, Robert Hindle’s ‘Rohypnol Love’ won over both the audience and the jury, which comprised of Joe Bateman, Todd Eckert, Jo Hartley, John Hassay, Miranda Sawyer, Iain Smith and Andrew Weatherall.

A big thankyou to Bronzerat Recording’s artists ‘Congregation’ for playing live as well as to Andrew Weatherall, Nathan Gregory Wilkins and DJ Goodhand for supplying the soundtrack to the after-party. Also, thanks to all of our partners in the event - MTV2, Rushes Soho Shorts, Shooting People, New Producers Alliance and Raindance as well as Budweiser and Gaymers for supplying the drinks.

About Thinksync Films

Founded in 2005, the competition brings together independent film makers with independent record labels and publishers, and entrants to the competition submit short films which incorporate one or more tracks downloadable free of charge from www.thinksyncfilms.com.

We launched this year’s contest in conjunction with the broadcast of an exclusive MTV2 120 Minutes show at the end of last year, which featured highlights from some of the competition alongside interviews with the directors and judges of 2007’s short listed films.

The competition rewards the most skilful and appropriate use of the music within the film, the winner receiving a substantial cash prize at a screening event and party aboard the HMS President on July 30th which will run as part of Rushes Soho Shorts 10th Year anniversary.
